How long does a lip augmentation procedure last?
The amount of time needed to complete a lip augmentation procedure will depend on the technique. Procedures involving temporary fillers can take as little as a few minutes to perform and can be done in a simple office visit. Other procedures can take anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours to complete.
Is there much pain with lip augmentation?
Depending upon the exact technique used, some amount of discomfort may occur right after the procedure. More extensive, permanent procedures, such as those using Gore-Tex, tend to involve more pain and discomfort.
What is the recovery like after lip augmentation?
Recovery will vary according to the technique used. Some bruising and swelling can occur.

Patients can usually return to work within a few days after lip injection procedures. More extensive procedures may take one to two weeks to recover from.
Does insurance cover lip augmentation?
Lip augmentation procedures performed solely for cosmetic procedures are typically not covered by insurance. Some amount of coverage may be available for procedures used to treat a scar or indentation from an injury or accident.
