A neck lift is a surgical procedure which can improve the appearance of excess fat and sagging skin of the neck.

The best candidates for neck lifts include physically healthy men and women who have realistic expectations are looking to improve the appearance of a fleshy neck, jowls, neck banding or a 'turkey waddle'.

Are there any limitations to what a neck lift can achieve?
Neck lift deal only with the neck itself. They can correct problems of the brow area, which are better treated with a forehead lift, or problems with the lower two-thirds of the face which are better treated with a facelift.

Where is the neck lift procedure performed?
Neck lifts may be performed in a surgeon's office-based facility, an outpatient surgical center or in a hospital.

What type of anesthesia is used during a neck lift?
The neck lift may be performed with either local anesthesia combined with sedation or with general anesthesia.

Where are the incisions made for a neck lift?
The exact location of the incisions will depend upon your particular case and the technique used. Incisions can be made under the chin and behind the ears.

How long does the neck lift procedure last?
It typically takes between two and three hours to complete a neck lift procedure.

What is the recovery like after a neck lift?
After a neck lift, bruising and swelling is likely to occur and it can several weeks to fade. It's best to keep the head elevated as much as possible at first to help control swelling. Numbness can also occur though this typically fades within a few weeks as well.

How much time will I need to take off from work after a neck lift?
Most patients find that they can return to work within about ten to fourteen days after their neck lift.

When can I run or lift weights after a neck lift?
More strenuous activities and exercise should be avoided for at least three weeks.

When are the stitches removed after a neck lift?
Stitches are typically removed within seven to ten days after the neck lift procedure.

Does insurance cover the cost of a neck lift?
Neck lifts are typically considered cosmetic procedures and, as such, are usually not covered by insurance.

Is financing available for a neck lift?
