What Makes Dr. Dayan so Different?

Dr. Dayan is a Facial Plastic Surgeon who is board certification by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He is a frequent lecturer, physician educator and active researcher in emerging cosmetic medicine technologies and techniques. Additionally, he is an adjunct Professor at DePaul University teaching an undergraduate course in the "Science of Beauty and Attraction and Its Impact on Culture and Business."

Dr. Dayan has published over 70 articles, book chapters and monographs. He has authored four books. His book, Fillers, Neurotoxins and Beyond, has an international distribution. His most recent book, Thrive, has resulted in a national series of training seminars educating physicians on optimizing minimally invasive office based procedures in their practices.

Dr. Dayan has appeared on over 45 news segments and has filmed with CNN, NBC, CBS, FOX, WGN, ABC and most recently was on the History Channel. He has also contributed to several magazines including Elle, Marie Claire and W. In addition to regular news appearances, Dr. Dayan has a consumer book recently released by Hatherleigh Press (New York, N.Y) titled Instant Beauty which guides readers through the world of cosmetic medicine.

Through his role as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois and monthly preceptorships, Dr. Dayan has trained over 3,500 physicians worldwide. He holds medical licenses in seven states. In addition to a practice that sees over 6,500 patients a year, Dr. Dayan has founded and serves as a medical director for a skin care center (True Skin Care), an educational center for estheticians (True University) and a medical marketing company (IF Marketing).

He also is founder and medical director for a research company (DeNova Research). DeNova has been involved in many Phase II, III and IV FDA clinical trials evaluating safety and effectiveness of new treatments, products and devices.

For his professional achievements, in 2008, Dr. Dayan received the Foundation Leadership Award from the American Medical Association (AMA), the Public Service Award from the Chicago Medical Society in 2009, and in March of 2011 was appointed by the Governor of Illinois to the State of Illinois Medical Licensing Board. He has also been recognized as a "Top Doc" by both the Castle Connolly and Consumer Check Book Guides.

A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Dayan achieved Phi Beta Kappa honors and attended the University of Illinois Medical School. After graduating with AOA honors, he completed a residency at the University of Illinois, where he served as chief executive resident in his final year. Following his residency, Dr. Dayan completed a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship. Among the many committees Dr. Dayan participates in, he is currently a Chicago Public School Advisory Board Member and serves on the editorial board of Facial Plastic Surgery Journal and Cosmetic Dermatology.

Dr. Dayan's Community Efforts

Dr. Dayan is founder of Enhance Foundation (www.enhancefoundation.org). A passion for education, love of children and commitment to the city's future inspired Dr. Dayan to this not-for-profit organization. Enhance Foundation raises funds and resources for Chicago Public School students and provides underprivileged students with mentoring and internships opportunities. Additionally he has awarded over $130,000 in college scholarships to Chicago Public School students. This organization has raised thousands of dollars for Chicago Public School students. Dr. Dayan has dedicated his life to helping people attain their goals, and he firmly believes that education is a fundamental part of that path.

Dr. Dayan also contributes to FACE TO FACE (www.facetofacesurgery.org). This project was founded by the AAFPRS to provide survivors of domestic violence with access to reconstructive surgery from board-certified facial plastic surgeons. Cosmetic medicine not only helps the survivors mend their injuries, but often their esteems and their lives.
