Dr.Dayan also assisted in obtaining it approval for the KTP laser as a dermal remodeling treatment. Currently Dr. Steven H. Dayan is involved in a ground breaking study that is being conducted on the use of lasers to treat cellulite and is an invited lecturer and instructor around the country to speak about his expertise in the laser field.
What is a laser?
A laser is a single beam of focused light that is attracted to a specific color or target. When a laser light hits its target, energy is released often in the form of heat. If it hits the wrong target then no energy is released. Much like wearing a dark shirt on a hot sunny day, sunlight is attracted to a dark shirt and will get hot but if you wear a white shirt which is more reflective of sunlight, it doesnt get as hot. Lasers work in a similar manner, using heat energy to erase out the specific intended target without harming the surrounding tissues.
There are many lasers available and each one is attracted to a different type of target. Some lasers are best suited to target tiny red spider veins; others for dark deep blue veins and still others are better equipped to remove dark or light hair. It is important to realize that no one laser does it all, and that many times, multiple laser lights have to be used to obtain the best results.

Erbium Laser Resurfacing (non-fractionated)
This erbium laser uses light technology to resurface the skin and greatly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scars. Unlike a fractional laser this form of resurfacing covers the entire targeted area and thus requires a longer healing period. Laser Hair Removal
Using laser energy, this system is able to reach deep into the hair follicle to target the melanin and achieve permanent hair reduction. Laser hair removal is non-invasive and a cooling mechanism is used that keeps patient discomfort to a bare minimum Because laser hair technology is able to specifically target the follicle itself, the tissues around the affected area are left unharmed. It is a safe and effective way of removing unwanted hair with virtually no downtime needed after treatment. A series of treatments is recommended to achieve optimal results. Spider Veins| Varicose Veins
Spider veins appear as surface blemishes or a reddish-blue collection of broken veins. The tiny spider veins on the legs feed into progressively larger veins until reaching the big deep vessels in the leg that return the blood back to your body. With varicose veins, the blood gets backed up in the deeper big vessels, and the medium size vessels and tiny spider veins cannot empty into the larger veins. Varicose veins vary in severity, but often have a thick, cord-like appearance.
